A wonderful discovery of Arcachon Bay, from Cap Ferret to the Dune of Pilat. Commentary filled with humor and anecdotes about the bay’s history. The cruise lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes. Highly recommended.

A guided and comprehensive cruise, a must-do to truly explore the bay. I recommend this company, which has many boats in excellent condition.

We chose the 2.5-hour cruise that passes by the Île aux Oiseaux, follows the peninsula up to Cap Ferret, then returns via the Dune of Pilat to the pier. The Île aux Oiseaux cruise does not allow you to see the whole peninsula, which is a pity, because on this route the boat travels at a very slow speed, very close to the shore, along the entire coastline, offering an extraordinary view of beautiful houses, oyster farms, and oyster farmers collecting and sorting oysters.
The return via the Dune of Pilat offers the chance to admire the many sandbanks that must be avoided to prevent grounding—just like several sailboats we saw, which had to wait for high tide to set off again.
The commentary is given live throughout the trip by the captain, rather than pre-recorded as is sometimes the case. In short, don’t hesitate if you can: you’ll get a real overview of the entire bay, and it will give you ideas for places to explore more leisurely later.

We live in the region and regularly take our guests on UBA trips. Today we chose the Complete Tour of the Bay and had the privilege of boarding the Le Cote d’Argent sailboat, a must!
